As Meridian students enter the fourth quarter and end-of-year tests begin piling up, the deadline for National Community Service Awards draws closer. All volunteer hours are due April 15, 2024.
One can win three different National Community Service Awards. The first award Innerview offers is the Merit Award, for 30 hours of service from at least four different activities. The Honor Award is given for 60 hours of volunteering with at least eight different activities. The highest award Innerview offers is the Ambassador award, which one can receive with 100 hours of service and at least 12 different service activities.
InnerView also offers the Cause Impact Awards for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) two and 12 for having at least eight hours of service for each SDG.
An award for volunteering is a great addition to college applications or job resumes, showing possible employers and college admissions officers both compassion and a commitment to work despite not receiving money.
With only a few days left before hours are due, students may be looking for last-minute volunteer opportunities. Below are some opportunities to get that last hour or two or simply volunteer for fun.
