On Monday, the Black Student Union held a meeting in the Meridian auditorium, bringing together students to discuss important issues affecting the Black community on campus and beyond. The gathering included a panel where guests responded to questions from the Meridian BSU, educating Meridian students on the importance of black culture.
The meeting sparked thought-provoking discussions and highlighted many important issues affecting the Black community, all while encouraging students to voice their opinions and contribute to the ongoing efforts of the BSU.
“Being on this panel was an opportunity that was no short of rewarding. Sharing my perspectives on topics so imperative to the progression of our society, yet sometimes seen as uncomfortable to discuss, really made me feel as if I was speaking for the voiceless.” says Meridian BSU member and guest speaker on the panel Olivia Pierre.
