With another exciting week of fantasy football coming up, you might be wondering who to put in your lineup, and who to leave on your bench or the waiver wire. Just like last week, I have selected one player I love and one player I hate for week four.
Love: LeGarrette Blount, Running Back, New England Patriots.
There are a few key reasons why LeGarrette Blount will come up big in week four. Looking at Blount’s last three games, he has had at least one touchdown each week. Not even first round running backs (Todd Gurley or Ezekiel Elliott) have had that type of consistency. Blount’s kind of production just doesn’t go on the bench.
While past production does not necessarily indicate future points, there are several other reasons to believe that Blount will continue to produce this week. Why wouldn’t he, after all, when the Patriots literally do not have a healthy quarterback to play? Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett were both listed as “out” as of Monday. While most likely either Garoppolo or Brissett will start, the majority of the offense will be pushed onto Blount as they will be playing injured.
In short, LeGarrette Blount has been a touchdown machine to start the season, and while that might start to simmer down with the return of Tom Brady in week five, he will continue to be the Pats go-to scorer in week four.
Hate? A top five QB with the top receiver in the league? Hear me out.
Le’veon Bell, Steelers Running Back, is making his much-anticipated return this week after a three-week drug-related suspension. While having the star back is good for the Steelers offense as a whole (the Steelers coach reported that Bell is “highly conditioned”), Big Ben’s fantasy points are going to take a big hit from Bell’s return. Even though Antonio Brown is a great target for Roethlisberger, he was still handing off to DeAngelo Williams most snaps during Bell’s suspension, so we can only imagine how little he will throw now that Bell is back.
Roethlisberger is also on my hate list because of his opponent in week four. The Kansas City defense is good as a whole, but more specifically against QBs. The Chiefs’ secondary has let up only two touchdowns, landing them a number-two ranking against QBs. In contrast, they are ranked 22nd against RBs. The Pittsburgh offense will take this into account, and hand off to Le’Veon Bell even more
Roethlisberger has a strong arm, but won’t get to use it this week with the return of Le’Veon Bell and a strong Chiefs secondary.
