With playoffs inching towards us, each game matters, so for a win this weekend, here are a few loves and hates for your lineup.
Love: Donte Moncrief, Colts Wide Receiver
Here’s a fun stat: Moncrief has scored a touchdown in every game that he has played in when uninjured. I see no reason for this to stop against a weak Titans Defense. In addition, the game should be close, leading to lots of throws as opposed to runs late in the game, benefitting Moncrief, as well as all receivers on both teams.
Even though I picked out Moncrief, it’s worth saying that the Titans vs. Colts matchup should be high-scoring for most fantasy players on both teams, including QBs Mariota and Luck, and other RBs and WRs such as DeMarco Murray and T.Y. Hilton.
Love: Martellus Bennett, Patriots Tight End
Never forget how productive Bennett was before Rob Gronkowski came back from injury. He put up a 17 point and a 24 point game early in the season. Since the return of Gronk, his numbers have obviously been decreasing. However, with Gronk yet again sidelined this week with a punctured lung, Bennett’s routes, receptions, and points should return to early season form.
Love: Kenny Britt, Rams Wide Receiver
Britt had a mediocre beginning to the season, but in the past two weeks, he has had two straight 10+ point games–and that’s with Case Keenum throwing. Number one pick Jared Goff is expected to make his NFL debut this week replacing Keenum, and I for one, am excited for him, but also for his receivers.
Hate: Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, Raiders Wide Receivers
The Raiders offense usually has several options; quarterback Derek Carr can look to wide receivers Cooper, Michael Crabtree, or running back Latavius Murray. This week, however, I see most of the looks going to Murray, as the Texans have a weak run defense, but a very strong defense against receivers. This will leave Cooper and Crabtree, two usually outstanding receivers, with lower targets, receptions, and points.
Hate: Cameron Meredith, Bears Wide Receiver
The Bears’ top receiver, Alshon Jeffery, was recently suspended for PED use. This should make Meredith a top pick up, right? I don’t think so. Jay Cutler doesn’t seem to have the same chemistry with Meredith as Brian Hoyer did. That said, I think tight end Zach Miller, will get more looks as a result of Jeffery’s suspension, instead of Meredith.
