Playoffs! Woohoo! Unless you’re not in the playoffs. My condolences if you are in the majority of the fantasy population and came up short this year. Either way, read some loves and hates and try to get a win this week.
Love: LeGarrette Blount, Patriots Running Back
But…he’s playing the top run defense this week. Won’t Tom Brady just be throwing all day and Blount will be given minimal touches? Yeah, kind of. Blount will probably be on most people’s hate list this week, but Blount owners shouldn’t be concerned this week, because even if he gets shut down in terms of yards, Blount should be good to run in a TD, after Brady does his job of advancing the ball.
Love: Andy Dalton, Bengals Quarterback
I love QBs playing the Browns, I love them. Dalton has not actually been suffering fantasy-wise too much from the AJ Green injury. Plus, there are a couple regular QB starters against tough Ds this week (Aaron Rodgers, Marcus Mariota, Dak Prescott), so if you have any of those, Dalton might be worth a one week pick up.
Love: Tyler Eifert, Bengals Tight End
In case you were thinking that a Bengals wideout might be nice this week against the Browns…I wouldn’t. Since the AJ Green injury Dalton has been looking to Eifert for big plays and TDs, not his wideouts. Eifert has put up a TD each of the past two weeks and I see no reason to stop against the Browns.
Hate: Donte Moncrief, Colts Wide Receiver
A TD per game sounds great, and it has been for Moncrief owners, myself included, but it has to come to a stop at some point. Any given week that Moncrief doesn’t score, he will be tough to get any points out of, because I can’t think of a more TD dependent WR than him. He’s up against the number 4 ranked Texans, and he hasn’t had more than 55 yards in a game since returning from injury. Especially considering the stakes are so high this week, if Moncrief can’t find the end zone, he’s trouble for your lineup.
Hate: Doug Martin, Buccaneers Running Back
Martin is usually a love for me, but he hasn’t been the same since returning from his early season injury, as he is yet to top 100 yards rushing. This could in part be due to shared snaps. Last week, we saw him lose a couple snaps, and Charles Sims is expected to be activated this week, so Martin could continue to lose snaps and points this week.
