I love the idea of conducting a sleep survey and writing an article about it. This is a huge issue for not only our school, but modern education systems in general, and I appreciate you striving to get it the coverage and awareness it deserves. My only wish is that you had organized the survey a bit more precisely. For the majority of us high schoolers (that is, those of us within the age range of 14-17), the widely-accepted amount of sleep recommended is 8-10 hours a night. (For 18 and up, it is 7-9, but that is a small group of students in the building, so I wont dally on it.) For your survey, however, you did not even provide an option for those who sleep for more than eight hours a day, and further, your three-number 6-8 increment extends beyond the 8-10 recommendation, thereby muddying the distinction between those that sleep the recommended amount and those that do not. Though it is now probably too late, it would have been nice if the increments were of one hour each to provide data with much greater precision. Otherwise, I am sincerely gladdened to see this topic getting coverage (as I conclude this message at 12:20 A.M., mind you).
