In honor of the recent release of “The Batman,” this Roundup will sum up the Arkham games series, which exceeded expectations, just like the movie.

“Batman: Arkham Asylum” (2009)

If you want to start a new series of superhero games, then this one’s for you. This game is what started the series back in 2009, when Rocksteady decided to create a new Batman game deal with The Joker and the other villains in “Arkham Asylum.” We are introduced to a number of characters that show up in the series. The combat system is good and the game presents a lot of challenges along the way. The map is very small, you can only travel between asylums and detective mode is used in certain situations. It’s a good way to begin the series and how the story is driven and makes the gamers love Batman even more.

“Batman: Arkham City” (2011)

This game is one of the best in the series. The game improved on the open world aspect of previous games, creating more flexibility and more places to visit throughout. The availability of skins is much better than “Arkham Asylum” because the designs draw more from the comics and TV shows. Nightwing and Robin are playable in the challenges, while Catwoman has her own story built in the game and can be played in Story Mode. The Harley Quinn’s revenge DLC pack adds more playtime to the story and continues off the main story.

“Batman: Arkham Origins” (2013)

“Arkham Origins” is very underrated, it doesn’t get talked about that much because it is overshadowed by the othe games in the franchise. It’s a prequel to “Arkham Asylum” and takes place in Bruce Wayne’s early career of being Batman in year two just like the movie. Black Mask hires eight villains to kill Batman on Christmas Eve. The cool part of the game is the traveling system like the Batwing traveling between parts of Gotham City. The Multiplayer expansion was cool because you could either play on Bane and Joker’s team or be Batman and Robin.

“Batman: Arkham Knight” (2015)

The last game of the series is much darker and intense than previous ones. Scarecrow and a new villain, named the Arkham Knight, terrorize Gotham City with other villains. Although all of the games show the Batmobile, this one makes your dreams come true, finally allowing you to control the car. It’s not just used for racing, but can also be used to take down the Arkham Knight’s militia tanks. The side missions are fun and add a lot of great playing time to the game.
