Editorial: The definitive best Halloween candy, 2020 edition
October 31, 2020
Welcome to the second annual edition of our annual picks of the best Halloween candy! Last year, we all disagreed on the superior Halloween candy and this year was no different. So we did what any good journalism nerds would do: write an article and ask for feedback. Here are this year’s picks:
Sam (Advertising & Social Media Editor): Does candy corn even count? Is it candy? Or just a triangular prism of sugar? Either way, candy corn is my pick. When I think about Halloween, I think about my annual CVS trip where I fork over $1.49 for a small bag of candy corn and seeing how much I can eat before giving up and trying not to vomit. The candy corn eating process is a cycle: it sounds like a great idea, then you eat waaaaaaaay too much candy corn, then you feel terrible for a couple days, and then you forget about it until the next Halloween. What could be better than that?
Megan (News Editor): M&Ms are by far the best halloween candy. They are a colorful treat that you can easily snack on at anytime of the day. They also come in a wide variety of delicious flavors like peanut, pretzel, caramel, and crispy!
Eva (Features Editor): There is no greater joy than when my grandma reaches into her purse, shuffles around her knitting needles, and presents me with a Werther. Some are coffee, some are chocolate, but all have the perfect amount of buttery toffee flavoring. Much like the golden ticket of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the metallic wrapping of a Werther in a bowl of Halloween candy never ceases to delight.
Stella (Features Editor): Without a doubt, Kit Kats are the superior Halloween candy. For all the chocolate lovers out there (and quite frankly, if you don’t like chocolate, you don’t exist in my mind), a Kit Kat is the perfect combination of crunchy wafer and smooth milk chocolate. Enjoy it’s deliciousness after a satisfying break – or, if you prefer, take a bite out of the whole thing and watch as your socially-distanced friends cower from your psychopathy.
Do you have a favorite Halloween candy that we didn’t mention? Leave a comment!

3 of these are decent choices. One of these is Sam. And the real answer is Reece’s Pieces.
