The Roundup: Fear Street, Lungs, and More

Lungs by Florence + The Machine
Florence and The Machine is known for her unique voice and dramatic sounds. Her debut album Lungs came out in 2009 and it is one of the most cohesive albums of all time in my opinion. The drums and harp-ish instrumentals are incomparable to other artists, especially when it comes to her songs “Cosmic Love”, “I’m Not Calling You A Liar”, and “Hurricane Drunk”. Florence and The Machine succeeds in creating a fully indie/pop album in a way that few artists have been able to achieve in the past. If you want to feel transported into another universe, Lungs is the album for you.
People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry
Although this book might be considered a beach read, People We Meet On Vacation has an excellent buildup to romance and action. (And it’s always the season for that, right?) People We Meet On Vacation follows two former best friends on one last hurrah destination trip after a falling out. There’s no denying the tension between them that keeps you turning the pages. Although at some points I was annoyed by the main character, I couldn’t help but root for her and her drawn out love story. The novel had me laughing, smiling, and even tearing up. People We Meet On Vacation is the perfect story if you’re looking for a story you can’t put down.
The Fear Street trilogy
This Summer, Netflix released the first of three Fear Street movies with the two others being released in the following weeks. Instantly, the reviews were magnificent and rightfully so. The Fear Street movies follow the small American town of Shadyside and it’s dark history of witchcraft. After a group of teens get into a car accident after a football game, they become the targets for the next Shadyside monstrosity. The mix between mystery and horror keeps you on the edge of your seat like no other horror movie trilogy has been successfully able to accomplish within the past ten years. The Fear Street trilogy will not let you down during this Halloween season.
