Band to participate in district assessment tomorrow

The Meridian band is playing in their annual District Assessment on March 4, performing “Puszta,” a Slavokic folk arrangement, “The Belle of Chicago,” a John Philip Sousa march, and “Baksheesh,” an Arabian piece.They have been preparing these songs for many weeks and are hoping for a strong performance this Friday.
“[The Wind Ensemble] has been working nonstop to get ready, and we have high expectations set for ourselves,” said Tri-M Joint President Danielle Kuck. “We have been rehearsing for months since we finished our winter concert back in December.”
Claire Zywicki, Band Council President, Band Council coordinator wTri-M, and Flute section leader feels assured in the band’s abilities as well.
“We work really hard and are really good at what we do,” Zywicki said.
Meridian band has a strong track record of performing well at the District Assessment. In 2019 they scored all 1s, the highest possible score a band can receive.
