On Monday, the History of Americas (HOA) classes visited Gettysburg National Battlefield to gain a deeper understanding of the Civil War, their current topic of study. Students were immersed in the battlefield which has been preserved as a national park so that visitors can witness the land where Confederate and Union soldiers fought in 1863. The juniors were accompanied by teachers Mr. Beau Fay, Mr. Adam Rivera, Mr. Eric Duchaj, Ms. Natalie Glees, Ms. Janice Healy and Mr. Pete Kelly. The group left Meridian at 7:30 a.m. Monday morning, arrived in Gettysburg by 9:15 a.m., toured until 12:00 p.m., ate lunch and then returned to Meridian by 2:30 p.m..
