Tucked in between Godfreys and The Neighborhood Barbershop, Coco Cameo Vintage, is our little city’s newest vintage clothing store. Although easy to miss when driving by, it is one of the most unique stores in town. Opened in December of 2025, the store is a step back in time into an era filled with vintage memorabilia.
Owner Jessica Stains got the idea for a vintage store in 2020 after she joined a record club.
“We formed a record club, and I was getting so much joy from connecting with these old albums and then connecting with other people about what we were listening to, I realized we could do that with vintage fashion as well.”
After being inspired and having a great deal of interest in fashion, she decided to open her own store.
“People seemed to notice what I was wearing and compliment me on the pieces I was thrifting or buying vintage because they were different from what everyone else was wearing,” Stains commented.
Her vision for the store was inspired by a trip Stain’s took to California.
“When I took a trip to Palm Springs, California in 2024 when I had this vision for a space all the way back in 2019 but I couldn’t picture it,” she explained.

Numerous aesthetics were juxtaposed to curate the unique visual look of the store. The bright colors mimic a boutique clothing store from the 80s. It is not every day you can see a store’s dedication and commitment to a certain aesthetic.
“I worked with this amazing designer for this main space, so she helps me find some of these special pieces,” Stains added.
Though vintage clothing stores tend towards outrageously priced items, Coco Cameo Vintage breaks this trend. It is rare to find a store that is reasonably priced and has fashionable clothing. The prices range from around $30 dollars to almost $400 for some of the nicer suit sets.
“I will get pieces from anywhere and everywhere. It could be the side of the road to a fancy boutique in another part of the world. Most things are coming from online, thrift shops, flea markets, consignment shops and individuals who approach me and say, “I have some things at home, from family or from my past that I’m ready to part with,” Stains shared.
It may just sound like another clothing store, but it can also be a setting for students to study, fun photoshoots and retro music videos.
“The lounge exists for people to sit down and relax and listen to some music and have a drink and enjoy themselves for a bit,” Stains added.
The only negative aspects of the store are the lack of signage and of male clothing. The lack of signage, however, is set to be resolved soon.
“My signage is recessed from the street, so the people driving and walking by unless they turn at the exact moment. I am looking into getting a sandwich board sign that could sit directly on the sidewalk,” she commented.
The men’s area remains unequal to the amount of female clothes up for purchase. There was only a small rack tucked into the corner. However, it is still a new store, and more clothing in the future remains a possibility.
Despite being such a new store, multiple welcome events have been successful.
“I did a popup event with Botanologica and I did a popup event at Godfreys. When I opened, I had a galentines sipping shop and I had a bunch of local businesses there,” Stains stated.
The overall impression of the store is quite good with all of the clothing being reasonably priced, great seating and a significant amount of accessories to choose from. I would love to see the men’s section improved, but other than that I really enjoyed my experience.
