As the school year ends, seniors think of leaving. But senior Jacob Bruner has been thinking of what he is leaving behind.
At Mason, it is tradition for seniors to paint a ceiling tile or to get a yearbook signed as a final high school memory. But Bruner has been leaving behind paintings and art in the places that he spent the most time in. He started off by painting the walls of the Ms. Kao’s Chinese classroom with the logo of the Mason Dragonboat team. After seeing how well this turned out, Ms. Kao asked him to paint another painting in the same room. Word of his paintings began to spread and he got another request from Mr Knight to paint a character from the game Fallout and the comic book character Ant Man.
Bruner makes his creations by projecting the image via overhead projector and then tracing the artwork to produce the most accurate results, but has also done free hand calligraphy on some of his paintings to add his own personal touch.
