An evident trend in the past editions of Iconic Duos has been childhood friendships, and Zach Lang and Brendon Smith are no exception. The two have made their way through Falls Church City Public Schools, and their inseparability has reached its peak in their senior year. You can find them staring deeply into each other’s eyes in the senior alcove during C lunch on odd days.
On how they will spend second semester:
Brendon: Usually we just chill.
Zach: Most of our time is spent trying to figure out what to do.
On why they’re friends:
Zach: We are in a lot of the same classes and have similar interests. We both like working out.
Brendon: We also like having lengthy discussions.
Zach: Our conversations aren’t school-appropriate.
On scarring memories:
Zach: We were on vacation in Reedville and I walked into the bathroom and Brendon was just sitting there being bathed by Jacob.
Brendon: He was just rinsing me off.
Brendon: Whenever I’m in Zach’s house, he always locks his cats in the laundry room. I didn’t know they weren’t supposed to be let out and they were scratching the door so I let them out into the house.
Zach: We had to wrangle them!
On teacher doppelgangers:
Brendon: Zach is Mr. P. I see similarities, there’s a similar sense of humor, and they’re both Greek.
Zach: I’m not Greek though. I’m from Italy and that’s close to Greece. Brendon is Mr. Walsh because he just chills, shows up late to class and does whatever he wants.
Brendon: One time he didn’t wear shoes.
Zach: Just like you.
On each other’s perfect girl:
Zach: Someone who goes to the gym with him…someone that loves Brendon’s beautiful personality. They can go shopping and buy earrings together. She has to be willing to have his name tattooed on her face.
Brendon: Zach’s already met his perfect girl so I’m just waiting on the invite to the wedding.
On their future:
Zach: We plan to move to Paris together, get a quaint little house
Brendon: I do not plan on doing that.
Zach: Maybe join the UFC.
