What has freckles, a comedic boyfriend, long hair, a constant smile on their face, and has played lacrosse all over? This week’s iconic duo: Lydia Gorman and Bridgett Rorrer. This pair has been mistaken for twins on a regular basis, and their similar sense of humor, future plans, and support for one another takes center stage.
On third grade:
Bridgett: I texted Maeve and said that I wanted to hang out with Rachel, Lydia, Maeve and Ruthie.
Lydia: No you didn’t, we’ve been friends since third grade.
Bridgett: Not that close.
Lydia: Wow, we weren’t close in third grade?
Bridgett: We were never in the same class.
Lydia: Yes we were in third grade!
On catdog:
Lydia: We are catdog. It’s a cat and a dog connected.
Bridgett: We are different but we are connected and look the same.
Nhari (friend present during interview): As you’ve grown up, you’ve become more similar physically.
Lydia: We’ve morphed into one.
On summer activities:
Lydia: Swimming.
Bridgett: We like to swim a lot. We do synchronized swimming tricks together. We’ll have a raft and we’ll put another raft on top of our heads and we’ll create a tunnel.
Lydia: Or the time when we grab onto each other and flip.
Bridget: The lifeguards think we’re in a relationship.
Favorite things about each other:
Bridgett: Her typos. She makes so many typos.
Lydia: That’s not even true.
Bridget: Maybe her sense of humor…how we have the same sense of humor.
Lydia: When she gets all the song lyrics wrong and continues to sing the song.
Bridget: This is a roast fest.
Lydia: She just screams the wrong lyrics over the song.
On being iconic:
Lydia: I don’t think we’re iconic, I think it’s just that everyone gets us confused.
Bridgett: The guy at Panera asked if we were twins.
Lydia: We played on the same lacrosse team and by the end, people didn’t even know our names.
On their future:
Lydia: We’re getting married.
Bridget: We’re going to shave each others heads.
Lydia: We’ll join a commune where we grow plants. Bridgett will have a bunch of pug babies that we will care for.
Bridgett: Lydia will have cat babies.
