The past, present, and future hopes of the Badminton Club.

The GM Badminton Club, currently led by seniors Sarah Lubnow and Shaun Rodock and sponsored by PE teacher Ms. Courtney Gibbons, was started three years ago by Haley Zullo and Casey Sheehy, who were students of the class of 2015.

“We wanted to start one (a club) but we didn’t know how to and we were underclassmen,” Rodock said. “Then we found out that they were starting one [and] we talked about taking it over when they left.”

Since then, Rodock and Lubnow have been leading the badminton team by arranging details for where the meetings will happen.

This club meets every Friday (or as many as they can) in either the Main gym or the Aux gym. They post on schoology where and when they will be meeting as well.

“Many upperclassmen loved the badminton unit in P.E. and we don’t get to do it anymore so it’s kind of like if you feel like playing badminton, come play badminton,” Rodock said.

While they have only had club meetings so far this year, they are hoping to do more activities before the end of the school year.

“We want to have a tournament, that’s the goal… we want to have a good tournament and also get T-shirts,” Rodock said.
