Next year’s schedule might be in some people’s minds as the school year gets closer to its end. With the restructuring of entire departments and new rules being added, there a few things that students might want to consider when picking out courses for next year.
According to Director of Counseling Ms. Ilana Reyes, GM intends to run every class that is currently in the online course selection book next year, however this is subject to change once the counseling department receives the number of students requesting each class.
Students are excited for the new courses being offered next year, such as IB Global Politics.
“This class will really allow me to learn more about the world and different cultures. Plus, I get IB credit, which is great,” Hannah Whitlock said.
Some courses will also be combined, such as Algebra II and Geometry.
“This new idea is good and effective for students, but it also kinda stinks for the people who have already taken either geometry or algebra because they had to put in two years of work and it does not seem fair to the people that get to summarize it into one,” freshman Megan Boesen said.
These are four new courses being offered next year and only two changes to the school curriculum. Check out the infographic below to learn more as to how next year’s courses may change and which courses you might want to explore yourself.
