Come to the book sale at the Community Center on April 29 and 30.

The Falls Church branch of the AAUW, or the American Association of University Women, is hosting their annual book sale to raise funds for scholarship programs for women and girls to attend university and college. It is a used book sale with books donated from many families in Falls Church, as well as other branches of the AAUW, such as the McLean branch. This book sale will be hosted in the Falls Church City Community Center on April 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and April 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The AAUW was first established in 1881, right in the middle of the women’s suffrage movement and a time when women had little rights, let alone the opportunity to go to college or university. The Falls Church branch of the AAUW has hosted this book sale for the last 40 years to raise funds for opportunities for women.

The books available at the book sale are for all ages and include many genres, such as fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, and more. It won’t be organized the same way as your standard library — this sale will have books organized just by genre. You might need to do a little digging if you’re searching for a specific book.

Please come by the Community Center and buy a book on April 29 and 30 to support the AAUW and their mission to help get women through college, university, and other educational experiences.
