“Regretting You” has to be one of the greatest movies to come out in the year 2025. This movie will make you feel so many emotions at once. It will pull on your heart strings, and make you laugh as a priceless moment unfolds. It presents a realistic story that you can feel a true connection with, contributing to making it a wonderful movie experience.
The new movie is an inspiring film about a tragic accident that leads to amazing new opportunities. This film came out on October 24, 2025, and is an adaptation of the book by Colleen Hoover. Main character Clara Grant, played by Mckenna Grace, is faced with the loss of the two people who she loved most, leading her to discover a life changing betrayal. This event sparks new connections, and creates a new love story with its ups and downs.
Mckenna Grace plays her role beautifully. She shows genuine emotions and magnificent acting skills. An American actress and singer from Grapevine, Texas, she is well-known for “Young Sheldon,” “Captain Marvel,” and many more. Her co-star Mason Thames plays the coolest boy in school, her high school crush, and later her boyfriend. Thames is also very well-known for his roles in “How to Train Your Dragon,” and “The Black Phone 1 & 2.” He is an upcoming American actor and ballet dancer from Dallas, Texas. Together, they have wonderful on-screen chemistry
This film received many mixed reviews. Some of the negative reviews state that it had a very melodramatic tone. According to Variety, “‘Regretting You’ may provoke as much unintentional laughter as it does lumps in the throat. Or maybe the laughs are actually, in some bizarre way, almost a deliberate part of it all… and Josh Boone, the director of “Regretting You,” and his screenwriter, Susan McMartin, don’t appear to be remotely ashamed of what they’re doing.” In reality, it is presenting a life-like story with raw emotions and reactions. The actors don’t act superficially, but they act as if a normal person would during big twists in their everyday life, like they have in the movie.
Lastly, this film has great music, which doesn’t distract from the movie. Nathaniel Walcott wrote the score for this meaningful music. If movies have extremely popular music, it can distract the viewer from the plot. “When You Were Young” by The Killers presents a flashback accentuating a happy time when the parents were young. Another song is “Everywhere, Everything” by Noah Kahan and Gracie Abrams, which underlines the theme of teenage love between Clara and Miller. This movie was overall fantastic, and it is definitely worth a watch.

a glowing review for what I found to be a corny, unrealistic, purely juvenile film.
