Like reading? Like people? Come to the George Mason book club, which combines these two fabulous things.

The Book Club will hold its first meeting on Thursday November 1 at 3:15 in the George Mason library. The first book will be “Pride” by Ibi Zoboi.

“We chose ‘Pride’ because it got tons of great reviews, it also has lots of diversity in it. It is always good to see other points of view,” said librarian Ms. Lisa Myklestad, who serves as one of the faculty sponsors of the club along with social worker Ms. Ghada Khalaf.

“Pride” is set in Brooklyn and tells the story of what happens to young Afro-Latino American Zuri Benitez when the very wealthy Darcy moves into her neighborhood. She wants nothing to do with their two teenage boys even as her older sister starts to fall for one of them. However when she and the arrogant Darius are forced to find common ground, things start to change.

If you want to find out how the story ends come to the Mason book club meeting tomorrow at 3:15. This is a great opportunity to read tons of cool books and discuss them with some really awesome people.
