Crumbl posted its Halloween menu, giving many a chance to indulge in the Halloween and fall inspired cookies. The six cookies included on the menu in the lineup are Milk Chocolate Chip, Biscoff Pie, Blue Monster Cookie ft. Chips Ahoy, Brookie Cookie, Raspberry Butter Cake, and Churro.
Milk Chocolate Chip ($6.39) 8/10
As Crumbl’s first cookie flavor that can be found on every weekly menu, it is reliably soft with many large and melty chocolate chips distributed evenly throughout the cookie, and the hint of sea salt makes it unique. However, I did find it leaning in the direction of overly sweet. I would consider this a safe pick for anyone who enjoys classic flavors, but is not a stand-out autumnal flavor.
Biscoff Pie ($6.39) 9/10
Built like a mini-cheesecake, this cookie includes a Biscoff crumble base, cream cheese pie filling, and is topped with a layer of smooth Biscoff spread, whipped cream dollops, and a full Biscoff cookie. Throughout the cookie, there were notes of cinnamon and caramel that gave off a pumpkin spice vibe. In addition, the “pie” structure gave a nice crunch-to-cream contrast. The overall richness of the cookie pie deducts a point from the rating, but the taste and texture were excellent.
Blue Monster ft. Chips Ahoy ($6.39) 5.5/10
This cookie aims to shine with its notes of brown sugar, chunks of semi-sweet chocolate chips, plenty of blue vanilla frosting, and Chips Ahoy cookie pieces. Despite looking good on camera, the blue frosting outshines the cookie entirely with artificial sweetness. I found the base cookie very dry, with only the small ball of cookie dough on top acting as a neutral soft and chewy save to the texture.
Brookie ($6.39) 10/10
The flavor and aesthetic of this cookie are included in the name: half brownie, half chocolate chip cookie. The fudginess of the brownie paired with the slight chewiness of the chocolate chip cookie lead to a rich taste, without being too dense. Without frosting, all the elements were balanced and tasted amazing, which led me to rate this one a 10/10.
Churro ($6.39) 9/10
Served warm, this cookie emulates a churro to near perfection, with a cinnamon-sugar coating and a hearty swirl of cinnamon buttercream to top it all off. The crunchiness of the cinnamon sugar crust with the creamy cream cheese frosting swirl paired well. However, a point was deducted because of the unimpressive and ordinary flavor.
Raspberry Butter Cake ($6.39) 9/10
As a fan of fruity flavors, this cookie embodied everything I love when it comes to fruit-based desserts. Coming as a sweet relief to all the chocolate included in the menu, the multilayered cookie consisted of a sugar cookie base, a drizzle of cream cheese frosting, and a dollop of raspberry jam and buttercream frosting. Coming in at second place, this cookie has a slightly basic taste, but substantial texture.
Overall, this week’s lineup feels strong and balanced, with my top choice being the Brookie Cookie for its overall great balance in taste and texture. The Biscoff Pie and Blue Monster ft. Chips Ahoy were very rich, with a lighter and fruity option being the Raspberry Butter Cake. The last two cookies, Chocolate Chip and Churro, are the most reliable for their good taste and texture combinations but lacked a Halloween vibe. Consequently, Halloween’s Crumbl menu lived up to its promise, and I would rate the menu a 9/10 as a whole.
