On Wednesday, March 12, My Home Thai opened their fourth location at Modera Founder’s Row in Falls Church, after having been founded in Reston in 2019.
The pink velvet seats, handmade bamboo wall art imported from Thailand and the statue of a bear holding a decapitated head outside the store leave no doubt that this is their most upscale enterprise yet. But does the food reach the same level as the decor?

Their duck roll appetizers were visually put-together, and had a satisfying taste and consistency. However, the texture was slightly lacking. The wrapper was somewhat dry, which undercut the superior textures and flavor profiles of the other ingredients.
When it comes to entrees, however, My Home Thai establishes itself as the place to beat. Its Street Chicken Noodles have just the right combination of flavor, thickness and texture to mark themselves in the top tier of Thai food in the city.
The restaurant offers a wide range of spicy dishes, serving as a must-visit destination for people wishing for an authentically spicy eating experience.
To complete a meal, My Home Thai provides several dessert options, with their mousse and cake options conveying a rich flavor and delicate sweetness. Most importantly, they do not sacrifice the texture and density that make them so compelling.

My Home Thai is the latest Thai restaurant to enter Falls Church. It primarily differentiates itself from the rest through its ornate decor, high quality food and spotless presentation. While it is not as expensive as other fine dining establishments in the city, it does boast higher prices than other local Thai eateries.
The restaurant will likely face competition from Dok Khao Thai when it opens its doors a 10-minute walk from My Home Thai.
However, the high quality and impeccable ambience of My Home Thai means that it will undoubtedly put up a strong fight when Dok Khao does open. Its unique style, taste and high-bar Thai cuisine are things that Falls Church has been sorely lacking – until now.
